Maternal Mortality and Black Women

In this episode of Beyond Clinical Walls, Dr. BCW addresses the critical issue of why black women in the U.S. are dying at a rate three times higher than white women during pregnancy or shortly after. She challenges the common belief that this is solely due to a lack of access to care, shedding light on deeper underlying causes. Dr. BCW emphasizes that while the issue of not being heard in healthcare could happen to anyone, some groups, particularly black women, face these challenges more regularly. She urges viewers to recognize and address these serious issues instead of dismissing them as merely access problems.
